You are my hope, You are my joy, You are my reason for living

31 May

It has been a while since I have blogged, but let me tell you what God has been speaking into me this morning.  I need to share it.  I’ll begin with a few passages that I read today.

“Hope that is seen is not hope.  For who hopes for what he sees?  But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.”  Romans 8:24b-25

“Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”  Hebrews 11:1

It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom the father does not discipline?”  Hebrews 12:7

“For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.”  Hebrews 12:11

In response to these verse and my current situation, I wrote these words:

God I know that You have named me as Your son, and I know that You love me.  Therefore, I know that You discipline me in order to mold me and make me into all that You have created me to be.  Of course, this situation is not pleasant, but then again discipline never is.  But I know that it will bear fruit in the future be that sooner or later.  So I will hope in the promise You have made.  I don’t know exactly how it will bear out to the end, but I do know that you are faithful to follow through on everything you say.  Give me the faith I need to continue.  Assure me of the things I am hoping for.  I beg for You to move!  But still I wait with patience with the knowledge that You have placed this hope within me and the faith to continue.  God I wait for You clinging to the promise of future glory.

This is what God is stirring in me this morning, and I am excited about what He is teaching me.
